GourmetGiftBaskets.com Launches National “15 & Me Selfie Search”

Posted on September 23, 2017 in sweepstakes

One of the top U.S. online gifting companies is celebrating its first 15 years of business in a fun, unique way, shining the spotlight on the countless customers who have contributed to this major milestone. At 11:15 a.m. (ET) today, “GourmetGiftBaskets.com’s 15 & Me Selfie Search” will launch, offering more than $2,000 in prizes.

The $22 million ecommerce company, which provides hundreds of upscale gourmet gifting options, will turn 15 on November 15th. The selfie search invites everyone to join the countdown to this big birthday by posting selfies with the number 15 in them on the company’s Facebook or Instagram pages. All posts must be family-friendly and should contain the hashtag #GGBTurns15.
The “15” can appear on nearly anything — a cake, sign, house, T-shirt, or even printed on paper. Contestants can post as many different shots as they’d like, as well, since all posts count. All entrants will vie for one of 17 exciting prizes.
The contestant with the most creative entry will win first prize – a whopping $1,500 worth of upscale goodies! These could include elaborate gourmet baskets, towers, cookie cakes, and many more WOW-inspiring gifts.
The entrant with the highest number of posts will win second prize — a three-month membership in the Monthly Cheesecake Club, receiving a different cheesecake flavor each month.
Finally, 15 third-place winners will be chosen randomly to receive one-gallon tins of handcrafted gourmet popcorn, since GourmetGiftBaskets.com offers nearly 100 popcorn flavors from sweet to savory.
“As a company that’s all about life’s celebrations, we wanted to approach this major milestone by offering consumers something fun, different and rewarding,” said Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jason Bergeron. “We can’t wait to see all of the selfies from our many loyal customers – and future ones, too.”
The search runs until 11:15 p.m. (ET) on November 15th. Soon afterward, winners will be announced and prizes will be distributed.
To enter, go to the special contest page, or follow instructions on the GourmetGiftBaskets.com Facebook or Instagram pages. Updates will be available on the contest page and social media channels as the selfie search gains national momentum.

You’ll find no better love than the Ozeri Kitchen Scale

Posted on September 13, 2017 in Reviews women

We love the new Kitchen Scale here.  I’m sure you will love it too.

The kitchen scale runs by battery, and it so small, it’ll fit on your countertop, between other products.  I love it, and so does my husband.  He measures all of our foods, because we are on diets.  This was the perfect time for this product to come into our lives.

You can see how easy it is to weigh your food, just place it on the scale, and the rest is magic.

The Kitchen Scale, shown above, really is a God Send to my family.  With watching our weight, counting calories, and walking everyday, now we can make sure we don’t go over our calories, by counting ounces, and pounds easily.

Features include:

  • Features advanced touch sensitive buttons for easy operation, and large LCD screen that displays weights in pounds, kilograms, grams, and ounces (lb/oz, kg/g, fl.oz., ml)
  • Boasts a tempered glass surface in reflective black that is 4 times stronger than normal glass, and an award-winning thin design.
  • Equipped with 4 new high precision GFX sensors, the Ozeri Touch Digital Kitchen Scale provides accurate measurements from 0.05 oz to 12 lbs (1 gram to 5750 grams).
  • Precision Tare features calculates the net weight of the ingredients (automatically subtracts the container weight to calculate the weight of the ingredients being weighed).
  • Includes 2 Lithium Batteries and an Easy Access Battery Compartment (no screwdriver needed).

Check out Haiti Projects

Posted on September 13, 2017 in kids Reviews women

Haiti Projects, Empower a Woman, Raise A Family, Lift A Village, is an amazing organization.

What is Haiti Projects?

Haiti Projects is a 501(C)(3) corporation with focused initiatives to empower women of rural Haiti toward self-sufficiency.  We provide access to jobs at fair trade wages, education, health care, and avenues for building sustainable community.  Haiti Projects is located in the town of Fond des Blancs.  We are currently the second largest employer in a region of Haiti where over 60,000 people live with no electricity or public services.
They make wonderful products, that are so thoughtful, and touching.  I love the doll, I received, that I’ll be handing off to a friend whose daughter is having a baby.  This will make a great first doll.  It’s so cute, and would be perfect for any little one.
The tea towel is great.  I love it, it takes care of it’s purpose, and cleans up my messes.  I get the stains out with a detergent, in the wash.
I also adore the Lavender Sachets.  They smell so good, and I put one in my intimates drawer, and I love the smell of them, now.

There are plenty of products to choose from at Haiti Projects, and each one has a story.  They are all handmade, and lovely.
Check out the video for more information.

Interview With Jack Varney

Posted on September 11, 2017 in Announcements

How did you get involved in the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society?

I am a former Marketing/Communications Executive with several Fortune 500
companies. I took early retirement to focus on hobbies and traveling. For
the past ten years I have provided my many years of Marketing expertise to
help Anime Conventions grow their base and overall business. I connected
with the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society nearly 3 years ago to help the
Board of Directors ensure long-term growth, stability and regional
exposure. Basically, to help organization remain both competitive and
financially sound. The end goal is to ensure the thousands of local and
regional anime fans have a continued, reliable source of cultural and
educational entertainment for many years to come.

How long have you been interested in Japanese Culture?

For decades.

What lead you to become so interested in Japanese Culture?

In my world travels the Japanese culture is both fascinating and beautiful.
It’s my favorite country to visit. The people place an emphasis on a
cultural heritage built on politeness based on a strong sense of family.
Not to mention the geography is simply breathtaking. From the mountains, to
the ocean, to the metropolis of Tokyo, it’s beauty is visually stunning.

Who is your favorite Voice Actor or Japanese Band member you’ve met?

Unfortunately, there are so many talented individuals in this category it
would be difficult to narrow down to just a few. I do know that the people
I have met who do voice acting for a living are extremely dedicated and
proud of their skills and performances (on and off the screen). As far as
bands, I do enjoy listening to “Dreams Come True”. They are a Japanese new
wave/rhythm and blues band who have been performing worldwide for nearly 30

Have you ever visited Japan?

Yes. Several times.

How did you become the lead PR for these events?

I volunteered my services and expertise. The Board of Directors are great
people who place the emphasis on the “convention experience” and attendee
satisfaction. Being a part of the senior leadership team was a natural fit.

What all goes into being in charge of an event as big as Tekko?

The answer to this question is extremely complex. First and foremost you
are working with an all-volunteer organization.
The best way I can honestly summarize it is focused leadership, dedicated*
teamwork* and flawless execution.
We have nearly 300 volunteers for Tekko alone spread across more than 10+
department. The Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society is like a large family.
We sometimes disagree, but always have each other’s backs. Again, the goal
is to make sure the attendees have a fun time, develop new friends and
relationships and make new memories for years to come.
