Book Tour: I Am Awesome By Ryan K. Maule #IAmAwesome
2020 Book Tours / March 5, 2020

I Am Awesome is a great book!  This is a trying time for my family, and this book brought a little light to our home, for my 8 year old, son.  Now, he reads it every night, with the satisfaction of knowing that our God is an Awesome God! The Inventor is Awesome, as are the things he makes, such as Grace and Zeal.  Then later Hope is introduced, and she’s really awesome.  Again, the inventor is who created her.  Soon after, Grace and Zeal go to the Inventor and talk to him, finding out that everything is Awesome! Do your children know how awesome they are?  Mine know, because we reinforce it.  My 8 year old is truly a gift from God, as I lost 2 babies in 2005.  So, he is our miracle, our Awesome child. Follow along, in this amazing book, with Grace and Zeal, who at first believe everything is good, then find out everything is awesome, through the inventor.  It truly is a fascinating book, and every child, who believes in God, should read it.  Our God is the most Awesome God. At the end of this incredible story, you will be shouting “I Am…

Parents can read about these five tips that will help you talk with your kids about preventing teen drug abuse. With the right approach, understanding and conversational guidance, your teen will know how to navigate their lives in a healthy, responsible way. 1. Understand Their Motivation Adults know there’s more to life than grades and getting into college. They have more responsibilities and more to lose if things go wrong. Do you enjoy Mardi Gras? Check out this post:
2020 Spring Gift Guide / February 20, 2020

Mardi Gras marks the end of Carnival season. The Carnival season begins on January 6th, the Epiphany and lasts until the day before Ash Wednesday. In French, Mardi Gras means “Fat Tuesday.” The day represents the last hurrah of sorts leading up to the start of Lent, the 40 days of fasting before Easter. Pope Gregory XIII made Mardi Gras a holiday in 1582 by adding it to his Gregorian calendar the day before Ash Wednesday. The LeMoyne brothers brought the holiday to North America in the late 17th century. Mardi Gras is celebrated around the world. In Ireland, England, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, it is also known as “Pancake Day.” The holiday is celebrated by eating pancakes and participating in pancake-themed activities. The first Mardi Gras celebrations took place in Mobile, Alabama in 1703. The city hosts the second largest party after New Orleans. The first Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans took place in 1837. It wasn’t until 1857 that floats appeared in the parade. If you’re going to ride on a float in the Mardi Gras parade, you’re required by law to wear a mask. The tradition of wearing a mask started to rid society of…

Welch’s Valentine’s Day Fruit Snacks for Treat Exchange
2020 Valentine's Day Gift Guide / February 11, 2020

I love Welch’s Fruit Snacks, and I found them for a treat exchange that my son is having with his 3rd grade class.  We usually send Fruit Snacks to all the parties, but this time it’s different, I didn’t know that they had them specifically for Valentine’s Day.  There’s a to:/from: on each package.  And, they have the same fruit flavor. I found a 28 count box of Welch’s Valentine’s Fruit Snacks, at Target.  The price was under $5.  You can’t beat that.  And, the shapes are cute hearts with emoji faces.  They are so cute! What a great treat to hand out to any class.  I know the kids always love when I send in these amazing Welch’s Fruit Snacks, for every holiday.  I addressed each envelope to the kids in Jacob’s class, then the extras are always sent in, incase any one wants seconds. The teacher probably gets sick of seeing Welch’s Fruit Snacks all the time, because I send them in any time we go to Walmart.  They are a healthy snack, and the kids can eat a pouch of them.  Going home with a half full belly. Fly, Fly Again ~ STEAM Learning Book Tour ~ January 10, 2020

I really enjoyed reading Fly, Fly Again with my son, yesterday.  They have a STEAM class, at school, so this was perfect for us to read.  He’s 8, so he would read a page, then I would read a page.  It’s such a cute book, about trying again.  Jenny really dreams of flying, and she meets others along her journey, that help her out. Fly, Fly Again is clever little story, perfect for children of all ages.  The Daughter, and Mom, duo, wrote this book together.   Fly, Fly Again introduces young readers to the concepts of flight – lift, gravity, thrust, and drag, along with pitch, roll, and yaw.  Jenny and Jude accompanied by their pets, Kitty and Hawk, work together to build a flying machine. It is a fun story of adventure, teamwork, and perseverance that begins to lay a foundation for aerodynamics in an adorable picture book format. ABOUT THE AUTHORS: Katie Jaffe: With a passion for children’s causes, Katie has committed herself to several charities, helping children around the world.  As Creative Director and Design Consultant of Aviation for Spectre Air Capital, Katie has aided in the design of several high profile aircraft.  Currently, she is leading…
