Review: Notebook Doodles Journals

Posted on February 18, 2019 in 2019 Easter Gift Guide

My daughter loves the Notebook Doodles Peace Love and Notebook Doodles Fabulous Fashion Guided Journals.  She really likes the pages that ask her questions, because she loves answering them.  I’ve looked at them, and she’s doing a fine job.

The Notebook Doodles Peace Love And Music Journal is magical.  You don’t really have to answer the questions, you can write whatever you want, but it starts with “What does harmony mean to you?” and ends with “Write a short story starting with this sentence:  Sophia had a secret talent.”  On every even page, new questions, on the odd pages, either blank, or pictures to color.  It’s a really awesome book.  You should get one for your pre-teen.

Here’s some features:

  • This inspiring guided journal for tweens ages 8 – 12 is designed to build confidence and self-esteem in young girls!
  • Fun and positive guided journal for ‘tweens ages 8 to 12
  • Writing prompts encourage young readers to practice the four basic writing styles taught in school—narrative, compare and contrast, descriptive, and goal setting
  • Beautifully illustrated with inspiring fashionable art from Notebook Doodles coloring book artist Jess Volinski
  • Artist Jess Volinski is an established popular designer and book illustrator for young adults

My daughter is 21 years old, and loves it. And, she could use help with confidence and self-esteem.  I mean, I’m 43, and could use the same help.

The Notebook Doodles Fabulous Fashion Guided Journal is a few dollars less, and it so cute.  The Dream Big! Shirt Journal starts with “How would you describe your style?”, and is fabulous.

Here’s the features for this book:

Fox Chapel Publishing presents 50 Years of Woodstock

Posted on January 29, 2018 in 2018 Valentine's Day Gift Guide

I have grown very fond of Fox Chapel Publishing, and the products they have.  Especially the following Woodstock Journals.  There are so many to choose from, and each one is unique.  Woodstock will be celebrating 50 years in 2018, and you can order your cool journals now, from Amazon.

The journal, pictured above, is Woodstock Dot Journal.  There are dots on the pages, to make it easy to prepare graphs, set to do lists, etc.  I love this journal, and have started planning for my future, with it.  The Tye Dyed design is amazing, and the Peace, Love, Music saying is outstanding.  This is by far my favorite journal I’ve ever owned.

  • Iconic photographs and psychedelic illustrations from Woodstock, the greatest music festival of all time
  • Combines a planner, diary, and to-do list all in one pocket-sized book with the “dot journal” format
  • Rapid logs, signifier notations, and index updates to make maximum use of your limited time
  • Efficiently jot down quick notes instead of writing long sentences
  • Track your day-to-day and organize long-term goals with inspiration from iconic Woodstock

The Woodstock Lined Journals are great for keeping my everyday thoughts in.  I’m a clinically depressed person, that also has bipolar and anxiety, so I can write down my thoughts, and therapist can go over them.  She’s been asking me to do this for years, but now I have the perfect journal.  There are even sayings on the pages, that make me think.

  • Connect with the Woodstock experience, the pivotal moment in popular music history that defined a generation and continues to inspire
  • Iconic photographs from Woodstock, the greatest music festival of all time
  • Inspiring quotations and illustrations to keep the legendary ideals of the Age of Aquarius alive in your heart
  • Finely crafted journal made of the highest quality materials
  • Includes plenty of lined pages and writing space to document your world

This Woodstock Unlined Journal has my 20 year old, daughter, thinking & drawing.  She’s putting all of her thoughts down in this journal.  She takes it to College, and writes (and draws) what she needs for class.  She loves the unlined journals.

Fox Chapel Publishing Christmas Coloring Review

Posted on October 21, 2017 in 2017 Holiday Gift Guide kids Reviews women

I have a newfound love.  It’s for Fox Chapel Publishing.  Their Christmas Coloring books are amazing.  Between my 6 year old, and 20 year old, I don’t know who is having more fun.

Santa’s Kitty Helpers is so cute, and I love the pages.  My 6 year old is having so much fun with this book.  He and my daughter, 20 year old, Sarah, share the book.  We take the pages out, and when they are colored I hang them on the fridge.

If you love cats and you love Christmas, get ready for hours of relaxing creativity!

The expressive-eyed furry friends depicted in the artistry of acclaimed illustrator Kayomi Harai have a wonderful way of capturing hearts. Now her delightful felines are even melting Santa’s heart in this adorable Christmas coloring book.

Another great book, Cute Christmas.  It’s all animals, and my 20 year old loves this book, because she loves all animals.  I also hang these pictures on the fridge.  My fridge has so much on it right now.

These adorable kitties, puppies, and other critters may be on the naughty list—but they’re still really cute! Have yourself a furry little Christmas with this heartwarming coloring book featuring happy pets in festive settings.

These are both adorable, inexpensive books.  Pick them up for under $6 each.  Check out the links above, or below, for more details.
