The Casio fx-9750GIII scientific calculator is helping my son with his advanced math, this year. It took a lot of getting used to, but he managed. He wasn’t used to all those buttons, being his first scientific calculator. He’s really loving it and uses it for everything he has to calculate. “It’s not difficult to use, just takes some getting used to,” my 11-year-old said.
The looks are deceiving. You’ll think it’s difficult to use, but it’s really not. Looks are truly deceiving. My daughter, age 25, was able to get to the bottom of how to use the calculator in no time. She wanted it for her schooling, but her brother needs it, for his advanced class. So, we went and got her an identical one, from Walmart.
This scientific calculator has already been a time saver, and money saver. The price is great, and Jacob is saving time, now that he knows how to use it.

Tips & Suggestions for Drivers as Summer Ends, School Begins
As children return to school, AAA East Central has launched its annual School’s Open – Drive Carefully campaign. The campaign aims to encourage parents to talk about the importance of school zone safety with their children and teen drivers. It also advises motorists to take extra caution when traveling through school zones or near school buses.
“School zone speed limits, AAA School Safety Patrollers and crossing guards are in place to save lives,” said Terri Rae Anthony, safety advisor for AAA East Central. “Since children can move quickly and cross the road unexpectedly, it is important to obey speed limits and be ready to stop at a moment’s notice.”
Speed is a crucial factor in protecting the lives of students as they make their way to class. According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, a pedestrian struck by a vehicle traveling at 20 mph is about two-thirds less likely to be killed as compared to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle traveling at 30 mph. Moreover, nearly 1-in-5 children 14 and younger who die in traffic crashes are pedestrians.
In addition to slowing down, AAA offers the following advice for motorists to keep children safe as they navigate their way through school zones:
Ditch distractions. Research shows that glancing away from the road for just two seconds doubles the chances of crashing.
Stay alert. Don’t rush into and out of driveways. Expect pedestrians on the sidewalk, especially around schools and in neighborhoods. Mind vehicle blind spots, check for children on the sidewalk, in the driveway, and around the vehicle before slowly backing up.
Brake for buses. It may be tempting to drive around a stopped school bus, but not only is it dangerous – it is against the law.
Watch for bikes. Children on bicycles are often unpredictable, so expect the unexpected. Motorists should slow down and allow at least three feet of passing distance between their vehicle and bicyclists.
Plan ahead. Leave early and build in extra time for congestion. If possible, modify routes to avoid school zones.
Look for AAA School Safety Patrollers. With more than 600,000 AAA School Safety Patrollers at 31,000 schools across the country, patrollers are a sure sign that school zone is approaching.

The campaign was launched nationally in 1946 to help reduce the number of school-related pedestrian injuries and fatalities. The campaign kicks off each fall and continues throughout the school year to remind motorists to watch out for children as they travel to and from school.

My mom and I love the Pistachio Chewy Bites. I put mine in the fridge, and they have a great taste, even cold. You don’t have to put them in the fridge, but I take them in my lunch, so they aren’t real cold by the time I get to them. The Pistachio Chewy Bites, or as I call them, “Pistachio delights”, are so chewy. The cranberry isn’t a strong taste, and the pistachios and chocolate are there. We recently tried Label Daddy and LOVE It!

Label Daddy is fantastic for getting my 6 year old’s property labeled.
We had to send clothes to school, the first day, for their lockers. I, of course, used Label Daddy to label Jacob’s clothes. There’s a mega clothing pack, and I was even able to label his undies. It’s so great to have a company that I can go to, and be able to know the labels are going to stick.

I love GourmetGiftBaskets.com. I was able to find my 6 year old, son, a great back to school gift, for First Grade. He keeps saying “I’m not going back to school until I’m 14!” But, we just keep telling him it doesn’t work that way. So, I came across the cutest Back To School Basket, through GourmetGiftBaskets.com, that I just had to get him. Even though school doesn’t start here, until August 28, I let him open it, but told him that he has to go back to school in order to be allowed to open it.
When he saw the Teddy Bear, in the Back To School Bear Hug Care Package, he got an immediate smile on his face. He fell in love. If there was a way that I could send the teddy bear to school, without the other kids picking on him, I would. It would probably ease the first day jitters. However, I take him back and forth, so I can put it in the car, and have it in his car seat when he gets picked up. He also enjoyed all the treats, in the basket, and even shared some with us.
There was a lot in the GourmetGiftBaskets.com basket. More than I expected, and that’s the truth. It was so cute. Packaged all up, and he tore into it, as soon as it was dropped off.
The 12 inch Cookie Cake is really great too. I’m thinking about sending one to Jacob’s new teacher. I’m sure it would be appreciated. And, she is going to have enough kids in her class, that she could probably use a nice treat, during her lunch.

Back To School with 3D light FX

We love 3D light FX, as a matter of fact, we have one in the major rooms of the house.
Jacob’s bedroom has the Thor Hammer, the master bedroom has the front of a car, and the living room has Boba Fett. Every room is a little different, but nevertheless, we love 3D light FX lights. I still need to get a light for the kitchen, and even one for the bathroom. Then, I’ll work on the “Man Cave”, and my office. But, the rooms you see, when you enter the house, are the rooms that have the lights.
The brightness of the lights is perfect. Jacob uses his as a night light. We put Thor’s hammer in there, so that he wouldn’t have any fear. They all make great night lights, and even a little light, to make something easier to see. Jacob, age 6, loves his light. His bedroom just got remodeled, so when it did, we added the light, and it’s so cool.
The Car 3D light FX is so amazing, and it’s in the Master Bedroom. It is smaller than a real car, but still looks realistic. The light is bright enough, that over the bed, I can read with it.
The Boba Fett light, which is in the living room, is really a conversation piece. Our friends/family love it, when they see it. We are always asked where we got the light, and we tell them, and guide them to the site.

Back To School Lunch With Newman’s Own Organics

We love Newman’s Own Organics, and this is the perfect time of year for you to get acquainted with them, if you haven’t already. Their products are perfect for school lunches. Completely organic, and delicious.
My 6 year old loves the Fig Newmans, and the Alphabet Cookies. I’ll be packing these in his lunch, every day. We’ve been eating Newman’s Own Organics for years. They are delicious. Every product has a special touch, and the fact that it’s all organic, is amazing.
My favorite is the popcorn. I love it. I just ate a bag 2 days ago. It’s perfect. No need to add anything to it. My spouse’s favorite is the Spelt Pretzels. They said they are absolutely delicious.
