Tekko 2023
Announcements , Tekko 2023 / July 22, 2023

This is the weekend that Tekko comes to Pittsburgh. I’ve been to Tekko several times, but today, I meet my favorite voice actor. I’m super excited, and can’t wait to see him. So, my boyfriend, and I, met our favorite voice actors. Brandon McInnis who plays Gyutaru in Demon Slayer was so down to earth and amazing. I also met my favorite anime actor, J Michael Tatum from Black Butler. He was so sweet, and kind. I can’t believe that I got to meet him. It was a dream come true. I love Black Butler so much, and he made me appreciate it even more. There’s so much going on at Tekko 2023. There are so many vendors, and cool games too. You can really get in touch with your Anime side at this year’s Tekko. I can’t believe I’ve been having such a great time. Tekko is going on the rest of today, and tomorrow. So get your behind down here to David Lawrence Convention Center, in Pittsburgh. We’re here tonight, and Tekko doesn’t leave until tomorrow evening. Today has been like a day out of a dream. I was able to meet so many exciting people and it’s…

Tekko Fun 2018
Tekko 2018 / April 27, 2018

Tekko is Pittsburgh’s premiere anime, gaming, fashion, music, and Japanese pop culture convention presented by the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society. This year, Tekko was able to bring in 9,709 attendees, a new record for the convention. During the weekend there were many panels available to go to, including a few with the guest voice actors! I attended most of the voice actor panels, which were Q&A’s, the screening of The Boy & The Beast, overcoming voice acting challenges, Late Panels with Pop Ramen and special guests, and one on acting. These panels were very fun to sit in on and get to know the voice actors a little better. They would make sure everyone got all of their questions answered and voices heard before they left. The voice actors were all about pleasing the audience, as long as the audience didn’t take it too far. During these panels, they would even sign a few things if they had time. Luci Christian even made it clear that no one would go home without her signature, if they came for it. Another panel I attended was Can I Use a Fork? A Crash Course in Asian Cuisine. In this panel, the speaker…

tekko 2017 / April 15, 2017

Tekko is Pittsburgh’s premiere anime, gaming, fashion, music, and Japanese pop culture convention presented by the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society. This year, Tekko was able to bring in over 8,000 attendees, a new record for the convention. During the weekend there were many panels available to go to, so many that I wanted to split myself in half to try to attend them all! One of the panels I was able to attend was “Did You Know? Shinigami Love Apples. Death Note In Depth”. This panel was all about Death Note, the speakers of the panel were even in cosplay. L asked if we were all Pro-Kira or Anti-Kira, which if you’ve watched this show you’re most likely Pro-Kira. Who wouldn’t love someone who wanted to get rid of all of the bad people and crime in the world? The room, unsurprisingly was Pro-Kira for the most part. They also brought it different aspects of how Death Note relates to the Bible. Another one of the panels we attended was “Sweet Viktuuri- Behind the Scenes of Yuri! On Ice”. This panel was interactive and very fun. You could definitely tell the presenter knew what she was talking about. I learned…
