How One Woman with Down Syndrome is Spreading Joy

One Creative Card at a Time

When was the last time you received a card in the mail that warmed your heart? This month let someone know you care with an artful greeting card, while also empowering those with disabilities to share their talents and abilities. Open your heart and send someone a card from Laura’s Greetings in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day March 21. A portion of your purchase covers the adoption fees of a child with special needs.

For birthdays, thank yous, congrats, well wishes and holidays, these one-of-a-kind cards were the starting creation of Laura, a 41-year-old artist with Down syndrome. Every Laura’s Greetings card is designed by an individual with an intellectual disability like Down syndrome or autism.

Card snobs will love the high-end cardstock and witty puns that accompany Laura’s artwork. Also, you’re sure to score some brownie points somewhere for slipping a card (or two) in the snail mail. Cards are sold individually and in convenient packs and Laura has a card club subscription so you can share some new puns each month!

Laura’s Card Club offers:

  • Two professional greeting cards designed by individuals with Down syndrome or autism

  • Matching envelopes

  • Two stamps

  • Free U.S. Shipping

About Laura:

Laura Barrett is the 41-year-old artist with down syndrome behind Laura’s Greetings. Painting has been a passion of hers since childhood and with the help of her aid Hannah Lee and Lee’s husband, Laura transformed her art into clever greeting cards. Those who know Laura feel she has one other interest that rivals art: Zac Efron. She has posters of him everywhere in her room including a life-sized cardboard cutout. She often goes about her day wearing  a lanyard with his picture in it! Laura’s other favorite things include dogs and ice cream cake.

Christmas Paper Crafting is Amazing

Posted on October 21, 2017 in 2017 Holiday Gift Guide kids Reviews women

Christmas Paper Crafting is a fantastic book.  It’s all crafts that you can do, to make Christmas more fun.  There are cards, name tags, boxes, and more.  My favorite is the name tags.  I can easily mark gifts with these fantastic, and beautifully designed name tags.  I also love the cards that can be colored.  These will make amazing cards for my 6 year old to send out.

This is what’s included in the Christmas Paper Crafting Book:

  • 50 Christmas Greeting Cards
  • 16 Holiday Gift Tags
  • 18 Yuletide Mini-Cards
  • 6 Festive Bookmarks
  • Large & Small Envelope Templates
  • Large-Format Art Frameables
  • 34-page Seasonal Scrapbook Paper Gallery

I truly love this book, and will buy it year after year.  For $19.99, that’s a great value.  All the cards, and tags, that I could need in one place.  And, I don’t have to worry about them getting lost before Christmas.

I love the mini cards, as well.  I can send them, with my 6 year old, to school, and he can sign and send them out to his friends.  I’ll attach a small gift, and presto, I’ve made someone’s day.

You can find some of the awesome pictures, that are in Christmas Paper Crafting, on the Shop Page.  It’s just a sample of what you will get.  The beautiful colors are amazing.  Take a look.
